PC Spec Checker

Use this checklist to see whether your PC meets The Sinking City 2 requirements before pre-ordering on Steam, GOG, or Epic. Values come from Frogwares’ July 2026 spec sheet. For narrative detail, read System Requirements.

Step 1: Check your OS

RequirementMinimumRecommendedYour PC
Operating systemWindows 11 64-bitWindows 11 64-bitOpen Settings → System → About

Windows 10 is not listed as supported at launch. Upgrade or plan to play on console if you cannot install Windows 11.

Step 2: CPU

TierAccepted CPUs
MinimumIntel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RecommendedIntel Core i5-14600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7600X

If your CPU is older than the minimum list, expect sub-30 fps even on Low. If you match minimum, target 1080p/30.

Step 3: GPU and VRAM

TierGPUVRAM
MinimumGTX 1070 or RX 57008 GB
RecommendedRTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 XT12 GB

Laptop GPUs with lower TDP may underperform desktop parts with the same name. The demo is a good stress test — download it free on Steam.

Step 4: RAM

TierRAM
Minimum16 GB
Recommended32 GB

Close browser tabs and streaming overlays if you only have 16 GB and see stutters.

Step 5: Storage

RequirementDetails
Space70 GB available
Drive typeSSD required

Install on NVMe or SATA SSD. HDD installs risk Unreal Engine streaming hitches in flooded districts.

Step 6: DirectX and drivers

DirectX 12 is mandatory. Update NVIDIA/AMD drivers to the latest stable release before judging demo performance.

Interpreting results

  • Meets recommended: aim for 1440p/60 on Balanced with TSR enabled.
  • Meets minimum only: stick to 1080p/Low and enable upscaling.
  • Below minimum: consider PS5/Xbox Series versions via Platforms and Stores or upgrade hardware.

Demo disclaimer

Frogwares warns the demo may run heavier than the shipping build. If you barely meet minimum but the demo plays acceptably, launch-week patches may improve performance.

Edition Picker for purchase decisions, Controls for input setup after install.

Pre-built PC buyers

OEM listings sometimes mislabel GPU wattage. Verify whether your card is laptop or desktop variant before trusting model numbers alone.

Dual-boot and Linux

Proton compatibility is unverified pre-launch. Native Windows 11 installs remain the supported path per Frogwares specs.

eGPU considerations

External GPU enclosures over Thunderbolt may underperform internal cards with the same name. Subtract one tier from expected performance.

Background apps

Discord overlay, RGB software, and browser tabs consume VRAM. Close them before benchmarking the demo.

Ray tracing speculation

No ray tracing requirement appears in official specs. Enable only if optional menus appear post-launch without tanking frame rate.

Integrated graphics

Intel Arc and AMD integrated GPUs are not listed in official specs. Expect below-minimum performance if you attempt anyway.

Final checklist

Restart PC before benchmarking demo to clear memory leaks from background apps.
