The Sinking City 2 Arkham Map Guide
Navigate flooded streets, safe rooms, and demo landmarks.
Arkham is the primary setting of The Sinking City 2 — a New England port drowning under unnatural rain and rising harbor waters. Frogwares describes the city as a semi-open world you traverse on foot and by skiff, unlocking shortcuts as Calvin pushes toward the flood’s source to save Faye.
This guide documents confirmed demo geography and previewed full-game districts. It will grow into a zone-by-zone atlas after the August 18, 2026 launch.
Demo district overview
The public Steam demo covers a vertical slice of downtown Arkham:
Main street and bridge approach
Calvin enters along tide-stained avenues lined with boarded shops. The tutorial funnel leads to a bar interior and continues toward the bridge / floodgate machinery. This area teaches interaction prompts, waist-deep wading, and the first safe room.
Residential apartments
Side paths lead to Apartment 6 with an optional safe (code 1908) and extra enemies. The map marks apartments in red until looted clean.
Floodgate industrial yard
The climax revolves around a fuse box, crank wheels, and a gate blocking library access. Electrical puzzles gate progression — see Demo Walkthrough for exact fuse placement.
Library (restricted section)
A multi-floor interior with a collapse set-piece. Lower stacks spawn additional monsters; upper levels return you toward the demo outro doorway.
Map UI conventions
Rooms display in red when loot or clues remain, blue when cleared. Use this to avoid missing Emergency Relief Crates or investigation notes. The map (M on PC) does not show real-time enemy positions — listen for audio cues instead.
Skiff travel
Canals connect some districts faster than alley routes. Mooring points appear as interact prompts along docks. Skiffs share control bindings with on-foot movement (see Controls).
Full-game districts (previewed)
Trailers and press materials highlight zones beyond the demo:
- Hospital wing — sterile corridors hiding occult experiments
- Fish market — close-quarters combat with aquatic creatures
- Speakeasies and parlors — optional investigation hubs
- Subterranean tunnels — late-game descent toward the flood source
- Holloway Manor — Premium Edition side mission on cliffs outside Arkham
We will add fast-travel notes, collectible maps, and safe-room locations per district at launch.
Shortcuts and backtracking strategy
After raising the demo floodgate, revisit earlier streets for red rooms you skipped. Optional investigations often unlock seawall gaps that skip combat-heavy loops — details in Investigation System.
Real-world inspiration
Arkham is Lovecraft’s fictional Massachusetts city, distinct from the first game’s Oakmont. Expect references to Miskatonic University artifacts, Innsmouth trade routes, and cult histories without requiring knowledge of every short story.

Collectible routing
Plan two passes per district: combat route first for mandatory keys, loot route second for red rooms. Skiff docks often hide investigation notes invisible from street level.
Photo and atmosphere spots
Art Deco signage and flood reflections make Arkham a screenshot-friendly horror setting. Photo mode has not been confirmed — use Steam overlay captures for now.
Weather and visibility
Permanent storm clouds reduce long sightlines. Flashlight management matters more than minimap zoom when navigating alley mazes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is the demo map part of the full city?
Yes. Demo streets connect to the larger Arkham layout shown in trailers. Expect expanded geometry and new districts at launch.
Are there fast-travel boats?
Skiffs act as traversal, not instant travel. Unconfirmed whether late-game systems add teleportation.
Can I miss permanent upgrades by rushing?
Emergency Relief Crates are permanent. Backtrack before leaving a district to avoid missing inventory expansions.
